Nx Witness VMS is a cross-platform application suite and is supported on all major operating systems. The advantage of cross-platform functionality is that, as an example, a Windows instance of Nx Witness will work and communicate with an Ubuntu instance, which will work and communicate with a macOS instance, etc.
Network Optix announces support for new operating systems in the release notes of each Nx Witness release and updates this article according to that information. Network Optix ends support for operating systems in the Nx Witness release that occurs after the manufacturer's End of Support (EoS) date.
NOTE 1: This article applies to Nx Witness 5.1 and Nx Mobile 23.1 and does not apply to prior versions since they are no longer officially supported by Network Optix.
NOTE 2: While we do provide support for the mentioned OS version, it's essential to be aware that some of these OS versions might have reached their end of support as decided by the OS developers. Consequently, it may not be feasible for us to address certain bugs related to these unsupported versions, or they may require unreasonable and impractical levels of effort to resolve.
To ensure the best possible experience and to keep your systems secure and stable, we strongly recommend using a supported OS. Utilizing a supported OS allows you to receive timely updates, including vital security patches, thus safeguarding your systems against potential vulnerabilities.
