This article guides you through the process of integrating Hanwha WisenetRoadAI with your VMS. By following these steps, you can ensure that ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) events are seamlessly captured as bookmarks within your VMS. Or any other action, but will focus on bookmarks in this article
Configure the Camera Web Interface
Before the VMS can receive data, you must enable the integration within the camera's internal application settings.
Access the camera via your web browser.
Navigate to Settings > Open Platform.
Locate the Go App (WisenetRoadAI) and click it. This will open the application interface in a new tab.
Set Up the Integration Event
Within the WisenetRoadAI interface, you must point the data toward your Media Server.
Go to the SETTINGS tab within the application.
Enable Wave integration (this toggle also applies to all Powered-by_Nx customizations).
Server IP: Enter the IP address of your Media Server.
Port: Enter the Server port (Default is 7001).
Credentials: Enter the username and password for the dedicated VMS user (see User Configuration below).
| NOTE: Digest Authentication must be enabled for this account within the VMS for the connection to succeed. |
Configure the VMS Event Rule
To ensure the events are recorded correctly, you must create a specific rule in the VMS.
Open System Administration > Event Rules.
Create a new Generic Event.
In the Source field, enter the exact name of the camera as it appears in your Resource Tree.
Set the Action to Bookmark.
| NOTE: If you rename the camera in the VMS at any point, you must update the Source field in this Event Rule to match, or the integration will stop creating bookmarks. |
User & Permission Setup
For security best practices, we recommend creating a dedicated user for this integration rather than using an regular account.
Create a Dedicated ANPR Group
Create a new User Group (e.g., "ANPR Integration").
Under the Permissions tab for the applicable camera, ensure User Input is enabled.
Create the Integration User
Create a new user (e.g.,
anpr_user) and assign them to the group created above.Username Format: The username must be written in all lowercase letters.
Authentication: Right-click the user, go to User Settings, and ensure Allow Digest Authentication is checked.
Global Permissions: Under the Global Permissions tab, ensure Generate Events is enabled.
Troubleshooting & Support
No Bookmarks Appearing: Verify that the "Source" name in the Event Rule matches the Camera Name exactly (case-sensitive).
Connection Failed: Double-check that the user has Digest Authentication enabled and that the password is correct.
Advanced Support: For specific questions regarding WisenetRoadAI features, please contact your local Hanwha Vision Support directly.
