You can configure the Desktop client on Windows and Ubuntu to automatically display an information overlay on all video items. When enabled, every video item opens with the Info button active, showing the camera name and an information box by default.

Configuration parameters
You can control this behavior using two configuration files:
showInfoByDefault: When set totrue, the client automatically enables the Info button for every new video item you add to the layout.showFullInfo: When set totrue, the client overlays an information box in the bottom-left corner of the video. This box displays the resolution, frames per second (fps), and codec information for every video item that has the Info button enabled.
Configure the client on Windows
To enable the information overlay on Windows, follow these steps:
Open your terminal and navigate to the configuration directory:
C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Network Optix\Network Optix HD Witness Client\settings\localOpen the
showFullInfoorshowInfoByDefaultfile in a text editor.Change the text in the file from
falsetotrue.Save and close the file.
Restart the Desktop client.
Configure the client on Ubuntu
To enable the information overlay on Ubuntu, follow these steps:
Open your terminal and navigate to the configuration directory:
cd ~/.local/share/Network\ Optix/Network\ Optix\ HD\ Witness\ Client/settings/local/Open the
showFullInfoorshowInfoByDefaultfile in a text editor.Change the text in the file from
falsetotrue.Save and close the file.
Restart the Desktop client.
