If your Network Attached Storage (NAS) appears as Invalid or unavailable in the Media Server on Windows, the issue is typically caused by a mismatch in Samba and Windows workgroup settings. The Media Server Message Block (SMB) protocol can encounter authentication conflicts when a Samba share and a Windows host do not explicitly share workgroup details during connection.
To resolve this issue, remove the NAS from your server settings and re-add it using the workgroup or IP address in the username field.
Resolve the invalid NAS storage error
Open the Desktop Client and log in to your Site.
In the Resource Tree, right-click the Media Server with the invalid NAS and select Server Settings.
Go to the Storage Management tab.
Select the invalid NAS storage, then click Remove.
Click Add External Storage.
Re-enter your storage details, ensuring you include the NAS IP address or workgroup name in the Username field:
Path:
\\<NAS_IP>\<FOLDER_NAME>(for example,\\192.168.1.100\Recordings)Username:
<NAS_IP>\<USERNAME>(for example,192.168.1.100\admin)Password: Your NAS password
Click OK to save the settings and verify that the status changes to active.
