What is the issue
Hikvision launched the V5.7.12 version firmware in March 2023. It has come to our attention that users may not be able to add the Hikvision camera running V5.7.12 or newer firmware with the default setting to the Nx Witness platform. This is likely due to some camera settings that must be configured prior to adding the device to Nx Witness.
What can I do to add the camera in this case
If you are facing a similar problem, it is recommended to set the camera time synchronization with a NTP server to get the correct time beforehand. Additionally, ensure that the user account of the camera has been granted full Onvif permission and in the Administrator level.
Configure the NTP time settings on the camera web interface
- Open the browser and access the camera web admin page.
- Go to Configuration > System > System Settings > Time Settings page.
- Select the Time Zone.
- Click on NTP, and set the Server Address as desired. (Please refer to https://www.ntppool.org/ for finding a suitable NTP server near your server location.)
- You may test the NTP server connection by clicking the Test button.
- Click the Save button to save and apply the changes.
Enable Onvif protocol on the camera web interface
- Open the browser and access the camera web admin page.
- Go to Configuration > Network > Advanced Settings > Integration Protocol page.
- Check Enable Open Network Video Interface.
- Set up the username and password.
- Select the Authenticate option to Digest&ws-username token
- Click the Save button to save and apply the changes.
