What is an experimental feature?
An experimental feature is a minimal viable version of a solution to a specific problem. We create experimental features to estimate the demand and requirements for some features requested by the market.
At some point, we will evaluate each experimental feature's importance based on the feedback it receives. If you see a feature that you enjoy and would like us to support it officially, please share your experience with us.
Here are some examples of experimental features that have been available since Nx Witness 4.0:
- Docker support
- Nx Desktop client for 64-bit ARM architecture
- Video Wall for Linux and macOS
- And more...
Can experimental features be used in a production system?
Experimental features do not go through extensive testing by Network Optix, so we do not encourage the use of experimental features in production systems. If you choose to, it is your responsibility to carefully test all your scenarios and make sure it works for you.
What is the support policy for experimental features?
We want your questions, bug reports, and feedback, but we cannot guarantee that issues will be fixed or that features will become officially supported. Although we are unable to make any promises, we will try our best to include fixes in the next official release.
If you need to use an experimental feature in a large project, please contact our sales team.
