To ensure Nx Witness processes and resources run without interruption, configure your antivirus software to exclude Nx Witness files and folders. Antivirus applications can sometimes incorrectly block these resources, which may cause performance issues.
Add Nx Witness to your antivirus exclusion list
To prevent conflicts, add the Nx Witness installation and media folders to your antivirus "Exclusions," "Exceptions," or "Allow list."
Open your antivirus application.
Locate the setting for Exclusions, Exceptions, or Allow List.
-
Add an exclusion for each of the following folder paths:
C:\Program Files\Network Optix\C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Network Optix\C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Videos\HD Witness MediaC:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Network Optix\D:\HD Witness Media\
Note: The
HD Witness Mediapath may vary if you have configured a custom storage location for video archives.
Firewall configuration
If your antivirus software includes a firewall, you must also allow specific domain names. For a complete list of required domains, see Allowing Nx Cloud traffic through a firewall.
