Configure antivirus exclusions for Nx Witness
Antivirus applications can sometimes mistake Nx Witness files for threats. This can cause performance issues or interrupt processes. To prevent these conflicts, add the Nx Witness files, folders, and domains to your antivirus exclusion or allow list.
Exclude Nx Witness folders
Add the default installation and media folders to your antivirus exclusion list.
Open your antivirus application.
Go to the settings for Exclusions, Exceptions, or Allow List.
-
Add an exclusion for each of the following paths:
C:\Program Files\Network Optix\C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Network Optix\C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Videos\HD Witness MediaC:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Network Optix\D:\HD Witness Media\
| NOTE: The Media path might differ if you use a custom or external storage location for video archives. |
Configure your firewall
If your antivirus software includes a built-in firewall, you must also allow specific Nx Witness domains to ensure proper connectivity.
To view the complete list of required domains, see Allowing Nx Cloud traffic through a firewall.
