PTZ & Rules Users
In ProgressHello all,
- Add "Restart PTZ tour" after X second (so an operator can look during X seconds a car or other, and after the PTZ restart alone)
- Add "STOP/START - PTZ tour" (if a man want during 2 day check anything, and after 2 days, only RESTART PTZ tour, so he need to start/stop easily the PTZ tour
- Separate or add an user right about "Edit Camera settings"
A Customer can Manage the PTZ, but can't edit camera settings (Advanced / Expert etc...)
So need a simple user right to allow User to "Manage PTZ"

Hi!
About PTZ Tours. You can set them in the PTZ Tour section. See this video as a reference. I think they should solve your problems. If not, please, clarify what is missing? You can also set Soft triggers in event rules and use action Execute PTZ preset. You can read about this here.
The last one, about permissions. This is one can be achieved if you leave User Input in the Permissions tab.
A user won't be able to create tours, but he will be able to operate PTZ.
We are trying to avoid a complicated user rights system where there are a lot of permissions. But for sure, we will add some frequently asked ones.
So Manage PTZ permission is asked several times, we will consider adding separate permission for creating Positions and Tours. But as for now, it is not planned in the closest releases. -
Hi Tagir,
No I don't speak about PTZ Tours.
I know I can set in the PTZ Tour section.
I speak about add a settings to set a time X seconds in the PTZ Tours section, for example, if the operator move manually the IP DOME, after this time, the PTZ restart alone if no more action.
Moreover, Add a button for example "STOP&START Tours"
So if the operator want during 2 days to survey a market, and after this 2 days, if I need to restart the PTZ Tours, he can only right click and restart the PTZ. And same if he want to STOP the PTZ Tours.Okey about the PTZ Permission, but it's extremely dangerous in a city for example... if an beginner operator want to change the PTZ tours and change anything in the device configuration...........
Best regards,

Hi Jordan,
You brought up multiple topics.
> Add "Restart PTZ tour" after X second
This functionality already exists in the software. In the PTZ manage dialog you can mark a preset or a tour as "Home", and camera will return to this preset or will start the tour after 120s of inactivity.
This timeout (120s) is not configurable, though.> Add "STOP/START - PTZ tour"
To easily stop the tour you can you activate any PTZ action.
To easily start the tour you can assign a hotkey to it (see the image below) and it will be activated on press on this hotkey. But adding a "start/stop" button is also a good idea. We will consider it in the future.
> Separate or add an user right about "Edit Camera settings"
I got your point. We are working on the new, more flexible version of the user rights system and will try to solve this issue in it. However, I can't promise it anytime soon, likely it is in a few years away form now.
Thank you!

Hi @...
> Add "Restart PTZ tour" after X second
Okey no problem, but maybe it's a good idea to allow users to customize this time..
> Add "STOP/START - PTZ tour"
"But adding a "start/stop" button is also a good idea. We will consider it in the future."
>> Okey good thanks !
> Separate or add an user right about "Edit Camera settings"

Hi Tagir Gadelshin, @...
Any news about this features ?
A lot of customers ask me when it's available... It's really important for us -
Unfortunately, those requests are not smth that can be released in such a short timeframe :)
I wish we had this speed of development, but the reality is that we have a lot of feature requests. Those specific requests are noted, we will consider adding them in the future.
During the roadmap discussion, we prioritize critical issues and features. Everything we do pass through a thorough design and testing process. So some features are postponed for several releases till we can deliver them with appropriate quality.
Anyway, thank you for your patience and sorry for any inconvenience! -
Hi Jordan,
Sorry, I missed your previous question.
I test it, but when you set PTZ action as HOME position, if you activate any PTZ action, the tour stop but restart again after 120 seconds... so you can't stop the PTZ tour ....
What is the solution ?I'm afraid there is no solution. This is the idea behind the home position setting that the tour will start after 120s of inactivity.
About separating rights to PTZ from the camera settings – no news so far, I'd say it's still at least a year from now on.

Hi @...
Fews months later, any news ?
-
Aleksandr unfortunately left our company.
Unfortunately, such features are not being worked on at the moment. We understand you would like to have this request implemented, so we will take your feedback into account for future feature discussions.
If is noted though, so it might appear one day in a new release.

Adding on to this...I understand that a tour can be set to start 120s after inactivity. Can this time be adjusted?
Or, if the home option is not set, and a user moves the PTZ to a position until they are ready to start the tour again, how can they start the tour? I mean, from Android App. I can see fixed presets can be selected, but no tour can be selected to start? And I could see any way to create a soft button to start a tour either?
Any help appreciated...
