Face / Person Pixelation

Hey everyone! We've had several requests for face / person pixelation from various regions and we wanted your feedback. Below is a link to an interactive mockup of how this may work.

Not a feature that any client of ours has requested, however I can definitely see the use of it for some- especially the schools we look after. Certainly would be a feature we'd emphise when competing against others.
I assume the pixelation is applied retrospectively? Not at the time of recording?

This looks very nice. And it would help a lot in large projects.
I also like the idea mentioned to make pixeleration an option upon export.
In exported -nov files I guess it would still be possible to turn it off / on from the client.
In a single .avi / .mkv it would be good to choose to have it permanently pixelerated or not.
To make this feature really powerfull I hope that you implement it together with a privacy masking function.
So that you can draw polygon shapes in the image and choose to mask them completely, or pixelerate that part of the video. -
In Europe with the GDPR, this would stand out in a multitude of other VMS's.
I only know of one other VMS that does this limited only to exported recordings where you can manually make the necessary alterations.
They provide you with the tool, but is still cumbersome.
I know VIVOTEK and Mobotix have hinted at something like this for their streams, but nothing on the Horizon.
For NxWitness, if you could have the option of this for the Live/View and also the option to enabled it for exported recordings, would be pretty big.
I have no idea if it would be possible but I will just throw an idea "out there":
It would be really interesting if when you are exporting, you could select an area of the exported recordings where the masks are disabled.
Example: I know that phone was stolen, so when I export the recordings I want that specific area around the phone to be a no-pixelation area...

Due to GPDR it is an amazing tool and skill for Europe market. I just know one tool that work with this in a really cool way. <Another_VMS> has this tool integrated.
As far as I know, <Another solution> just works with <Another_VMS> so if a customer ask for this skill, you can just offer <Another_VMS>. We need it in Nx asap guys!

Hi, Live View with optional user defined Pixilation areas is a feature that we are asked about, it would be an excellent addon for NxWitness, this is becoming a key feature for live monitored areas. Our requirement can be any defined areas within the field of view to be pixilated, these areas are set by a manager / admin, playback of the recording with the correct user privilege would show the full video (no pixilation). As mentioned in this thread it would be seen as an excellent addon and another feature that would make NxWitness stand out against competitors. Hope this can be added as soon as!

This would be an great option in Norway.
I have a customer now who have an law issues because he stream live view on their webpage.
We could done great business to offer Nx Witness with Face / Person Pixelation.
It could be bought and sold on as Face / Person Pixelation license.
Do you have any partners who offer integration in Nx, where stream could forwared URL with Face / Person Pixelation? -
For such applications, there are existing application your customer can use; for example: SightCorp.
