Nx Integration with Hikvision ANPR Camera - DS-TCG227-AIR
AnsweredHi,
I want to ask, would Nx consider to integrate with another Hikvision ANPR camera aside from DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZS/P?
Currently, we have an enquiry from a client with existing Hikvision DS-TCG227-AIR cameras, and they would like to have their cameras integrated with the VMS so that they can review the logs of the captured license plates from the VMS itself.
Hope Nx can consider integrating with this camera model too.
Thank you.

Hi @...,
We have integrated the Hikvision ANPR cameras based on the Hikvision ISAPI.
So if the cameras uses their own ISAPI, it should work in Nx Witness.
When ANPR is enabled in the camera, you can check in the rules engine if you can select the applicable event under the Analytics Event.
If this is not the case, we are happy to investigate it to see what we can do. In that case we need one of such cameras to be forwarded, so we add it to our test environment.
To be honest. Investigating doesn't mean integrating, but we can have a look to see what is possible.
Ps. I move this topic to the New Feature Ideas.0 -
Hi Norman,
Thank you for the fast response.
Currently, there is no event under the 'Analytics Event'.
These are the forwarded port and camera credentials for your investigation purpose:

Hi @...,
Currently, we are not able to capture the licence plates.
We can try to add this into a future release, but it would require access to this camera once more.
If that is possible, I'll create a formal feature request, and we will reach out when we have dev resources available.0 -
Hi Norman Graafsma, Nurul Maisarah,
The firmware for TCG227 doesn’t support Hikvision native API.
It does not report any available analytics in "/ISAPI/Event/triggersCap".Per Hikvision HQ suggestion, you can try TCG205B instead, as 227 will be discontinued soon.
They’re both entrance& exit cameras and shall have the same capabilities but support different API sets.
This is an issue on Hikvision side, please contact your local Hikvision team.
They are going to help you and give you the right suggestions.Thanks.

Hi Ichiro & Norman.
Can you help to confirm that Nx will be able to support the new model TCG205B?
Since your recommended models DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZS/P and DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZS are not available in Malaysia's market.
Our only options are limited to TCG Series.
Thank you.

Hi Nurul Maisarah,
Nx Witness does not integrate a specific model, what we did is we use the native API provided by Hikvision HQ.
The API is the standard part of their camera product, it is called ISAPI.Since the TCG-series does not support the native API, meaning that the camera won't be able to provide the necessary information based on the standard way, so it is not supported at the moment.
You can contact Bruce.Liu<liuzhigang@hikvision.com>, he is the contact of Hikvision in your region, please feedback this to HQ.
Once the camera can support the standard ISAPI, the function would be likely in Nx as well.Thanks.

Hi Ichiro,
Understood. Thank you for the explanation.
Actually we have contacted support from Hikvision HQ regarding this and they would like to contact you directly.
Is there any way to channel you with their team?
Thank you

Hi Nurul Maisarah,
We had contacted to their HQ product team, so likely they need to handle some internal communications then get back or talk to us. Anyways, thanks for your feedback. This task now is on Hikvision product team. Once they are ready, they would get to us.
Thanks.

Hi Ichiro,
Can you provide the name of PIC from the Hikvision product team? Hikvision support team needs to confirm with them regarding the status.
Thank you.
