Incompatibility Older versions with App
AnsweredGot a call from a customer today regarding his 3 Nx recorders. He couldn't reach 2 of them from his smartphone app. One can be reached so I assume this is a compatibility issue. Would it be a good idea to stop the automatic update of the app on phone and tablet? A customer who has a system that is working perfectly suddenly loses connection to his recorders because the app has been automatically updated without his knowledge. Nx is sold to be a system for which there is no need to pay any fees, but when this happens the cost of replacing the two unavailable recorders is not necessary for him. Can you tell us how you solve such a problem for our customer. the two recorders are NX1 but as mentioned they work ok. Is it possible to download an older app and stop it from updating itself automatically? Guess this could cause a lot of problems for a lot of people.

Hi Ole Mykjaland,
Since free lifetime updates are part of the 'package' when you buy Nx Witness software, we will push new software for each major update. This includes new features, but also features improvements, bug fixing, security improvements, etc.
But if someone doesn't want the latest and greatest version of Nx Witness or just want to wait for a while, they can decline the update, and we won't ask you anymore, until the next major release.
For the iOS and Android app, we can't provide the option to update or not to update, once we publish it, the Apple App Store and the Google Playstore will update the installed apps automatically.
That being said, you can forbid all or just one app to update. Please check these support articles I found online regarding this subject.
HERE you can download the latest 64-Bit Android version that was compatible with Nx Witness 4.0, the latest version that was compatible with the Nx1 devices. In THIS support article is described how to side-load an application on Android. For iOS there aren't such option due to the policy of Apple.
