Clarify on 5.0 object detection setup?

I've just upgraded to 5.0, and I'm wondering what the best setup process is for the new object detection?  

I had a site with HIKVision cameras that show that Object based record is possible.  For the camera, I'm seeing the 1.0 plugin is available.  I can enabled object based recording, but I'm not seeing anything coming through?

Is NX managing the in-camera setup of object detection?  It seems that NX is reliant on the presence of a support camera analytics plugin, but is NX managing the object detection events for the camera?  Or does this need to be manually enabled for each camera?

It's a bit confusing in how the search/advanced search shows all object types available, but these specific cameras for example only offer in-camera face detection, but not person detection.

 I'm not seeing any objects on the timeline either.  

So, what's the proper steps to enable NX's Object recording/search for a HIKVision Camera?

  Hi Luke McFadden,

  I believe this is due to the Nx Witness has not yet completely support every model of Hikvision cameras.
  The object information (metadata) provided by the Hikvision needs to be integrated into Nx Witness via plugin which is in development now. As far as I know, this is likely in our future release. 

  I don't have the ETA now but we will keep you post while there are any updates.

  Ichiro  Is there a place where we can see what camera models are supported for the object detection?   We have a Hanwha camera at this site as well where the object detection isn't working either.

  To confirm, NX should be handling 100% of the object detection setup?  Meaning there are no special steps in-camera that I should be doing to enable this?

  Hi Luke McFadden,

  Not quite, but you can sort the supported device list for Analytics and if the camera supports Object Detection it is very likely to be supported in Nx, to be really sure, you could ask the Hanwha team if the specific model is supported in Nx Witness for Object Detection since it varies per Hanwha API. We use the SUNAPI version 2.5.8. So if the camera supports the same API, it should be supported.
