O365 for email notifications

I'm trying to use a generic O365 account that is used on our office printers for scan to email (working fine). No MFA. 

Weirdly NX simply times out. Have tried SSL / TLS and combos thereof with ports 465 / 587. no go.

  Has anyone got the email notification working through O365? I am constantly getting an timeout error.
