Dear Andreas Winkler and Olaf Wagschal,

I have requested remote access to such device from Axis to investigate the issue.

Once I have an update, I let you both know.

    Hello,

I have a similar problem. The camera shows up but it connect using the double panorama mode which is useless for our matters.

On 2022 May 12 Norman Graafsma said the camera had an ONVIF failure as the device did not passed the connection test on the ONVIF Device Manager Tool. See atached image "ONVIF Error".

AXIS said they were aware if the case and released a new firmware which solved de case. We applied the firmare and tested against the ONVIF Tool. Now connection is ok.  See attached image "ONVIF Ok".

On the NX side it still connects to the double panorama stream. NX version is: 4.2.0.34633. Cam firmware is 10.11.65. Find images attached.

This camera is an AMAZING one. We REALLY need it to work as it should. We do need all the help we can get.
    Thanks in advance,

    Miguel Dina

    Hi Miguel,

we currently just included them temporarily with the RTSP stream, so you get the round image and have it de-warped in NX, but this is not the final solution, but has bought us time with the customer.

Maybe it can help yopu also for the moment ;).

    Best reagrds,

    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,

Your comment is very much appreciated. Honestly, i try to avoid RTSP as much as i can BUT, for the mean time will go that way.

Looking forward for a native solution from NX.

    Regards,

    Miguel Dina.

Hi Andreas Winkler, Olaf Wagschal, and Miguel Dina,

So far we are able to reproduce the issue with the mentioned virtual loan, but this expires quickly, so we would ask it either one of you can make the camera available for further investigation?

If this is possible, we'll create a support ticket on your behalf, so you can share the credentials privately.

    Hi Norman,

Thanks very much for your feedback.

We already have a network access route to access the camera from WAN.

We will be more than happy to provide the access to the device for as long as you need in order for us to have a native way to integrate this device into NX.

Plz provide a secure and private method to send the URL and login credentials.
    Regards,

    Miguel Dina

Tagging onto this post as I also have the same issue with the M4308.

Adding an ONVIF user with root and same password gets around the authentication issue, but alas I am also stuck with the useless double pano as the default stream(profile2_h264) when it should be profile0_h264 is the pano image.

Changing the installation mode to pano only mode is the only way to get around this, but you lose WDR and gain fps.

    Using RTSP isn't a great solution as I can't lowres+motion record.

For some reason when I add a manual RTSP stream using the URL the original Axis camera picks up on profile0 but its flaky dropping out it seems

    Hello Ryan O'Dwyer,

    Thank you for your message.

For now, you're stuck to either Onvif or RTSP.
Our developers are working on a final solution.

I think it is fair to assume they'll be able to resolve the issues, since Axis is pretty easy to work with.

    To be continued...

    Regarding:

    Using RTSP isn't a great solution as I can't lowres+motion record.

Actually, you can. If you add the RTSP stream, and once it is added to the system, you can add the secondary RTSP stream as described in THIS support article. Once this is done, you can set the device to Motion+LoRes recording.

    Hello Andreas Winkler,

I can offer you a custom build, but the final solution should be in the upcoming 5.0_patch (probably in August).

You can update your system to private patch 5.0.0.35163

    In-Client Upgrade:

    Build Number:   35163
    Password:   h5q8zc

Please check THIS support article first, before using a custom build.

    Dear friends,

This message to request your support to re enable the support for the AXIS M4308-PLVE on NX5.

You were kind enough to provide us with a built that worked bo looks like that functionality was left out of the latest release.

We wil lbe more than happy to provide/assist you in any way needed.

    Regards,

    Hi Miguel Dina,

The fix was added to the 5.0.0.35163 patch. The version you show, the 5.0.0.35270 is the release version and doesn't contain any fixes which were added to the patches. We are trying to publish a public patch this week, which should include the fix for the M4308.

    Hi Norman,

Thanks for the clarification. Very appreciated.

We were told that if a release is later that other it should contain all fixed previous to it. Cleary that is wrong.

We will keep eyes open for that release.

    Best regards,

    Miguel Dina

    Hi Miguel Dina,

Please check THIS article about Nx versioning.

But in this case I understand the confusion, since after the 5.0 release, we did a re-release to add some hotfixes, but this re-release doesn't contain fixes that are part of 5.0 patches, since this would require too much time to test.

As you noticed, the patch has been delayed due to some internal maintenance and improvement tasks on our build environment. I hope the patch will be published asap.

    Hi Miguel Dina,

It will be part of the upcoming 5.0 release, but there were some issue in the build process, and therefore we encountered a delay. We are still eager to publish asap.

    Norman,

Thanks for writing back. Very appreciated.

We are working on a new project with NX and many of these cameras are been specified.

Since there is no date for this new NX release and this project will be wrapping up early next month, do you think we could get from you a build that supports these cameras in case the new NX version is not released for that time?

    Thanks in advance,

    Miguel Dina

    Hi Miguel Dina,

With the information of today, I have no reason to assume we won't be able to deliver the patch before next month.

Otherwise, we'll check how we can arrange a patch with the fix included.
