512 GB SD Card on Rpi appears as 16 GB only
AnsweredHello- I am testing NX Witness with NX Witness Server 4.2.0.32840 installed on a Raspberry Pi 400 4 GB. The micro SD card is the recommended WD 512 GB as per the installation video. Stored data is being overwritten after only 24 hours or so (two cameras, record on motion detection only). I looked at [my ip number]:7001/static/index.html#/advanced and it says the storage url is /opt/networkoptix/mediaserver/var/data. The free space is given as 1.49 GB of 14.29 GB, with reserved space of 1 GB. It seems to think it is just a 16 GB sd card perhaps? Does anyone know how to specify that the card is in fact 512 GB so that I might use all of its storage capacity? Thanks. Can you please keep answers to the level of a user who got this far by copying and pasting the instructions in the video with little or no understanding of them.

Hi Barry Dent,
Although it is kind of unexpected that a default OS installation only allocates 16 GB for the root partition, there is a fairly simple fix by Expanding the filesystem in the Raspi-Config file.
I could do a write-up, how to do it, but someone already did it HERE.

Thank you. I have followed the procedure and the partition is now much bigger. I will monitor recording to see that all is behaving properly now. Appreciate your quick response.
