Generic Event
AnsweredHey Guys,
I'm trying to make a generic event and I saw in the training videos that I can run a test on the generic event "generator".
I fill in all the details and for some reason when I click on a test it opens another page with the caption "This site can't be reached".
How can I handle this?

Hi Lital,
Can you specify which video and which pages are you using?
Maybe you can paste the URL here that you were trying to test.
Thanks.0 -
Hey Ichiro,
Here is the link: http://admin:20004Life!@71.101.171.99:7001/api/createEvent?source=3%20-%20Right%20Entrance&caption=Motion%20Detection&description=
Thanks for the quick response

Hi Lital Akulov,
It is due to your #7001 port is not opened.
Likely you have the firewall or some protection, maybe the Antivirus or Windows defender.
The communication is blocked due to the rules on them.
Please contact your IT or allow the connection from external to pass your firewall. If you are using a different port on your Nx Witness, then please also change the URL accordingly.

Hi Lital Akulov,
I assume you refer to this link: https://my.networkoptix.com/#/apiEvent
If that is the case, and you enter the following information:

This should be the Event in Nx, be aware that the capitalization needs to be identical:

When you copy/paste the URL into your browser, it should trigger the Generic Event you configured and the selected Action should be activated.
In THIS video, you can see how it works in my system with the URL you mentioned. The only differences are the server IP and credentials.

Hi Lital Akulov,
Since you created a new topic, about more or less the same topic HERE, I'll close off this topic and the can continue the conversation in the other topic.
