Dahua HDW3549HP-AS-PV-0280B - Two way walk
AnsweredHi,
I am having issues with being able to talk out of the Dahua HDW3549HP-AS-PV-0280B in built speaker through the NX hold to talk button either on Mobile phone or PC.
If someone could point me in the right directing for getting this to work that would be great.
I have enabled audio in general and managed to get the audio input feed from built in mic, it is just getting the audio out of the camera.
Appreciate your help,
Thank you

Hi Daniel Francis,
Please follow the below instructions for gathering the information on the issue you met.
1. Check the camera web page
I check the camera spec on the Dahua official website, it seems this camera supports sound alarms, but does not support two-way audio.
Could you help to verify whether the camera web page supports two-way audio?2. Check the firmware version
The latest Nx Witness version is 4.2.0, if your Nx Witness is not running the latest version, please try to update the Nx Witness to the latest release.
Check: https://my.networkoptix.com/#/download
Please also make sure your camera is running on the latest firmware as well.3. Check the function on ONVIF Device Manager (ODM)
Generally, Nx Server operates with the camera via the ONVIF profile S API, which is commonly used now in most cameras.
Please download and install the ONVID Device Manager on the same computer as your Nx Server is installed, then check whether you can control your camera to speak out.
If thePlease share the results of the above instructions with us, thank you.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for the status update.
I am sorry that I provided the incorrect testing tool, for testing the 2-way audio, please download and install the ONVIF Device Test Tool. Run the test tool software then follow the below steps:
1. On the Discovery tab, select the NIC which connects to the network that the camera locates, then press the Discover Devices button.
- Choose the camera for testing, then provide the credentials.
- Alternatively, you can manually search the camera by entering the device IP address, service URL and credentials, then press the probe and check button.2. Go to the Diagnostics tab, choose the Test Cases tab on the left of the window.
- Choose the Audio Backchannel under the Real Time Streaming.
- Click Run Selected to start testing.3. Check the test result
- Select the test case to see the testing result.
- At least one of the test cases is green for the 2-way audio works with ONVIF.
- If all of the test cases are red, it means the 2-way audio of the camera does not work with ONVIF, therefore, the Nx Witness is not able to support it. In this case, please consider saving the test result and contacting the camera manufacturer support team for help. Please kindly let me know if you have any further questions, thank you.

Hi Daniel Francis,
We have not heard back from you in a while, so we are going to assume your question has been answered and set this topic to 'Completed'.
-
Hi Daniel Francis,
Can you please share the output of the Audio Backchannel test in the Onvif Device Test Tool?
-
The tool is a proprietary tool, and therefore we are not allowed to share this tool or offer a download link.
But we are more than happy to do the test for you. For this we need remote access to the device through port forwarding. If this is possible, please let us know, and we'll transfer the topic into a support ticket, so you can share the login credentials privately.

Hi Daniel Francis,
I just created a ticket on your behalf. Please check your email and continue from there.

Hi Sam Megson,
Unfortunately not. I was asked to contact the Dahua support team but finding that quite hard to get an answer. If you do find out any further information on this please let me know but at the moment it still stands as an issue that does not work.
Thank you

Hi Sam Megson,
My colleague collected some information from the device.
First there is no suitable Audio Output available as shown in the Onvif Device Test Tool:
Besides that we collected the communication between camera and the VMS, which you can find HERE.
1. Packet #690, GetProfiles
The camera provided the following tokens:2. Packet #717, AddAudioEncoderConfiguration
The Nx Server sent:
And the camera replied:
The behavior was the same as the previous firmware.
The firmware update seemed to make no difference.Feel free to share this information with the Dahua team or redirect the Dahua team to this thread in case they have any questions, although their developers should have enough information with the above to reproduce and resolve it.

Not sure if it's best to start a news thread but as my issues seem to be very related to the issues here maybe this is the rite place.
I'm also trying to get two way audio working for Dahua-HDW3549HP-AS-PV. I've run through the process listed above with ONVIF Device Test Tool. One the first try I got no green cases, however I then updated the camera to the latest firmware and got four green cases, but the audio coming out of the camera was noisy, crackly and unrecognisable. Through NX when opening the mic, the camera makes a single click but no sound comes out. Changing the main stream audio profile within the camera to AAC brings back the noisy, crackly and unrecognisable whilst opening the mic via NX.
In the supported devices list this camera is listed as compatible with two way audio, so I don't know if this is still a Dahua issue or I'm doing something daft but hoping for some help.
Thanks
Jon
