Fixed Archive Length
AnsweredHey!
I work as IT for a high school in norway, and we are having some trouble with our recordings not being saved for the right amount of days we set in the "Fixed Archive Length" on each camera, we have it set to 7 days and we tried with 10 days aswell, but it seems to just save the recording for the last 4 days.
Could this be a problem that has occurred after the new server update?

Hi @...,
Fur further investigation, please share the following information with us.
1. The version of the Nx Server
- Did you update the server recently? Does this issue only happen after updating?2. The screenshot of Server Settings > Storage Management and Storage Analytics page
3. Cameras streaming information
- The number of cameras connect to the Nx Server.
- Average streaming bitrate of the cameras. Here is some information regarding the Minimum days setting for your reference.
The Minimum days setting of Fixed Archive Length is a video archive reserving priority setting, rather than a guarantee. If running out of storage, the Nx Server will start to remove the earliest video archive which is out of the minimum days video archive also.
If there are two cameras, camera A has been set fixed archive length for 10 days, and camera B has not. The Nx Server will remove the camera B archive first in order to keep the 10 days of the camera A video archive.
If both camera A and B have been set to fixed archive length for the same number of days, when running out the storage, since there are new footage needs to be saved continuously, and the Nx Server can not fulfill the minimum days setting on both camera, server will start to remove the archive on both cameras.
In other words, if all the cameras have been set to the same minimum fixed archived length days, then all the cameras own the same previledge to reserve the archive, which will be as same as setting no minimum days on all cameras.
