    Hi @...,

Nx Server does not have the default password, the password is set through the wizard when connecting to the server the first time.

Please let us know which situations you are facing:

    A) You can log in to the Nx Server through Nx Client, but not able to login to the web admin.

    B) Password lost.

    Thank you.

    Hi @...,

It seems that somehow the configuration wizard was skipped in your environment, so you are not able to set the admin password.
Please follow the below instructions to reset the password.

    1. Stop the Nx Server

    • Windows
Right-click the Nx tray icon on the Windows taskbar, click Stop Server.
    • Ubuntu
Enter the command on the terminal:
      systemctl stop networkoptix-mediaserver.service

    2. Backup Database
Follow this support ARTICLE and backup: a) System Database, b) Server Database, and c) Smart Motion Index.
    * You may skip this step if you do not have any recording archive on this server, or have not configured or installed the Nx Server on this computer before.

    3. Remove System Database
The location of the System Database:

    • Windows
      C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Network Optix\Network Optix Media Server\ecs.sqlite
    • Ubuntu
      /opt/networkoptix/mediaserver/var/ecs.sqlite

    4. Start the Nx Server

    • Windows
Right-click the Nx tray icon on the Windows taskbar, click Start Server.
    • Ubuntu
Enter the command on the terminal:
      systemctl start networkoptix-mediaserver.service

    5. Set the Password through the Configuration Wizard
After finishing the above steps, the configuration wizard should pop out when you connect to the Nx server.

    6. Steps to Restore Database (if needed)
    - Stop the Nx Server.
    - Put each database file back to the original location.
    - Start the Nx Server.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
    Thank you.

    Hi @...,

Just to be sure? You did set up an admin password through the Nx Witness Desktop client first, right?

If you didn't, connect to the NX Witness Mediaserver with the Nx Witness Desktop client, a window will show and ask you to set up a system password, and when this password is set, you can access the system with this password through the Nx WebAdmin client as well.
