Allow the DW Spectrum Version of NX Witness to use Hanwha's Native API for Camera Adds

Is it at all possible to consider changing how Hanwha cameras are added to the DW Spectrum version of NX Witness? Currently, DW Spectrum adds Hanwha cameras via ONVIF, where Hanwha Wave and the original NX Witness add Hanwha cameras via the native API, similar to how Axis cameras are added. The use case for this is to allow customers that have invested substantial amounts of money on licenses and built their systems up to add Hanwha cameras and take advantage of API specific operations, such as lens control for PTRZ cameras via the advanced settings menu and better integration of Hanwha camera analytics. With the ONVIF implementation, these features are missing. We currently are evaluating Hanwha cameras to replace older IP cameras on our campus and this limitation is not so great.

  Hi Zack Sauve,

  Because the Hanwha SUNAPI is proprietary, integrating it with other Powered by Nx OEMs requires direct approval from Hanwha; so this decision isn't up to us.

  To move this forward, we recommend reaching out to Hanwha to express your interest in SUNAPI support for Digital Watchdog Spectrum so they might consider approval.
