Visual Tracking
AnsweredWith traditional video monitoring systems, an operator usually has to manually search for an adjacent camera when the suspect leaves the current camera's field-of-view. This is a timely and complicated task especially navigating through systems with hundreds or thousands of cameras. if you add Visual Tracking feature enhances the user experience, allowing us to click on pre-configured graphical overlays to select the adjacent camera directly from the video tile. These overlays provide instant visual, avoiding long searches and increasing your efficiency during live monitoring or investigations.
With Visual Tracking, switching from the current camera to an adjacent camera should be a simple click away, even in playback mode. When viewing recorded video, security operators can switch from one camera to the next as easily as during live monitoring. This helps operators find out what really happened, greatly speeding up investigations.

Hello Zouhair,
thanks for your input. I'm moving this thread to the new feature ideas forum as it would help our team to keep track of all ideas.

This could be handled with freely placeable soft triggers that were set to load another camera. It was on the roadmap a few years back 🤞 https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360020969014-Freely-Placeable-Soft-Triggers
A dedicated interface for it would be even better. Tracking a subject in playback currently presents huge friction when there are a lot of cameras and directions a subject could go.

Hi, Zouhair benchettab
Yes, Kieran is right. Currently, you can place soft triggers on each camera with actions Open layout (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmvGDxuIHqs) or Set to fullscreen
Those soft triggers can be arrows, showing directions:
Placing soft triggers freely on the viewing grid is on the roadmap. But currently, we concentrate our efforts on high-prio critical features and since this one is not a show-stopper, unfortunately, it gets postponed

Hi Kieran Vella,
With Node-RED you could easily create a button panel, would that help you?
See THIS clip.

As a techie and a tinkerer, that's very cool. As a person that has to support the people that support our SI's. Realistically its not a chance in hell that would be a workable solution in our segment. Even the soft triggers opening a layout that Anton Babinov suggested is a bit on the tough side given that you would need to create a single camera layout for each and every camera. Maybe the rule action could be tweaked to just allow loading a camera rather than needing to go the the layout route, but in both cases, would it work as expected in the middle of playback? Probably not...
This needs a fully supported feature

Thanks for mentioning playback mode. That's a fair point. Currently, soft triggers bring you to live.
we will consider improving our event rules and soft triggers so that your scenario will be possible. If we won't succeed, probably this would be added as a separate function in the future.
But anyway, unfortunately, I won't expect this coming in upcoming releases.0
