    Hi @...,

It is likely that the camera didn't report the supported analytic events while the camera joined to the VMS.
Please help us to check and collect some information as below:

    1. Make sure that the software version of Nx is up to date.

    2. Remove the device from the Nx. Add the device to the Nx and capture the Wireshark packet at the same time.
(You could refer the instruction here to know how to create a Wireshark capture)

    Thank you.

    Hi Wendy Chuang,

I have the same issue as @... but with Hikvision DS-2CD2386G2 cameras.

After updating three of these cameras to firmware 5.5.150_Build 200927, only the first intrusion detection alarm for each camera is detected by NX Witness, after that no further alarms are detected.

I can see the intrusion events coming through using ONVIF Device Manager, the first event and all subsequent events are in the same format. In addition, restarting the NX Witness server allows the first event through after the restart, then no more so this looks to be an issue on the NX Witness side.

Steps taken so far (with no change):

    • Restarting the cameras
    • Updating NX Witness from version 4.1.0.31398 to version 4.1.0.32045
    • Removing and re-adding one of the cameras in NX Witness
    • Restarting the NX Witness server - allows one more event through as mentioned

I can give you remote access to the server and trigger an alarm while you're connected, let me know.

    Thanks,

    Renton

    Hi Wendy Chuang,

I've just captured the packets for one of the cameras when adding it to NX Witness with Wireshark, PM me and I'll send you the link.

Note that the camera was auto-discovered, then the credentials were entered manually however the Wireshark capture spans both events so you should have all the information you need.

    Thanks,

    Renton

    Hi Wendy and Renton,

Did you find a solution for this problem yet?

I have the exact same issue with Hikvision DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL cameras.

The firmware that works is V5.5.135 build 200610

When I upgrade to firmware or V5.5.150 build 200927 or V5.5.150 build 201102 the smart events will only trigger once on NX witness and then after that fail to trigger on NX witness until the camera is rebooted.

Wendy Chuang has there been any resolution to this issue? It seems it's being experienced by a number of customers now.

Hi @..., @..., and customers who meet the same issue.

Yes, we've checked that there're two problems and probably the Hikvision camera will meet the same issue after upgrading to the V5.5.150 firmware version:
    1. The camera supports a new picture/snapshot format for the alert content, which is not recognized by Nx.
    VMS-20875

    2. The camera uses an incorrect flag/boundary in the alert content. It's the camera issue and might impact most of the analytic events.

Our team has fixed problem 1 but we're waiting for the beta firmware that is provided from the vendor side. They are still working on it.  If this is an urgent case for you, I would suggest keeping on the older firmware.

I'll update here as well once we get further information.
    Thank you.

Issue should be resolved by Hikvision in firmware v5.5.160_210104.
