Zabbix template/integration

Hi All,

Zabbix is one of the commonly used opensource system monitoring software. It would be nice to have an NX template in Zabbix to add the servers/cameras/event logs/alarms easily and get the alarms and events in Zabbix. We could use the reporting functions of the Zabbix and the system admins could monitor the NX along with all IT products in the datacenter.

    Unfortunately, such features are not being worked on at the moment. We understand your eagerness to have this request implemented, so we will take your feedback into account for future feature discussions.

    But it is worthwhile to think about it. What kind of parameters should be included in the template?
    Maybe some of the other community members already has such template and want to share it?

    To add to this, we are considering improving our health monitoring API (ec2/metrics/values) to be SNMP-compatible. 
    If we do this, Zabbix will be able to track our system via SNMP protocol.

    Also, I think either we or our partners can come up with a solution (plugin or smth) that will make an integration with Zabbix easier. But I'm sure Zabbix can be configured to use health monitoring (or any other) data from Nx using JSON-files returned in Nx API, but it can be not user-friendly configuration for now

    Maybe, as Norman suggested, some of our users made this and can share their success stories here.

    Its likely we will be working on this exact topic.
    Searchs for "SNMP" and "MIB" on yoru website yeild 0 results.
    So searching in the support forum I came across this post

    Note that a Zabbix template can be very simple but also contain monitoring using SNMP, JMX, IPMI, or an agent, expressions to do pre and post processing and correlation, low level discovery rules and more.so I'm not sure anyone would give it away free, I hope I'm wrong :-)
    From our research most NVR/DVR/Camera vendors' equipment support SNMP although not all publish up to date MIBs to understand what their agents produce.
    Furthermore one of the important parts of SNMP are notifications or traps, and they are also defined in the MIB.

    Whilst integration using JSON importing is feasible, SNMP is THE standard for distributed monitoring and preferable especially in projects where many different vendors equipment needs to be centrally monitored.

    So please do seriously consider your suggestion but try not to limit the SNMP support to metrics as specific exceptions and anomalies are of importance too.

    We can build probably a template that can talk to the HTTP API of NX.
    It is on our internal roadmap but we don`t have a fixed schedule on it.

    Note that Zabbix recently published an integration with Hikvsion that's freely downloadable at https://www.zabbix.com/fr/integrations/hikvision 
    Maybe you can take inspiration from its content as it also using web interface
