I've recently completed an install with the same. My resolve was to play with the pre-record time on motion of that camera, along with the bookmark/notification. I set it this way so when we clicked on the book mark, it showed the vehicle approaching the plate was captured. Client like dit due to being able see the vehicle, what direction it came from etc, prior to the plate capture. We found it worked really well this way. Not saying this is the answer to your problem- just what we experienced. Cheers from NZ.

    Hi Tony,

Thank you for your feedback on the Hikvision LPR integration with Nx.

Can you provide the Hikvision camera model and firmware version you are using, as well as the VMS version/build?

    Hi Tony McLeish,

As Glynn Thomas mentioned, often it is a matter of fine-tuning with the pre- and post-record settings, since it might vary a bit depending on the network and the speed of the vehicle.

If you want to be sure, it would be interesting to track the communication between camera and server with Wireshark to see when the license plate is captured and when the action is made.

I'm not sure why i am adjusting the pre- and post recording setting for motion when i'm looking at a license plate

Same thing happening with a Hanwha camera.

    Hi Tony McLeish,

The reason is that the license plate data doesn't necessarily align 100% with the footage due to the processing power of the cameras and/or the speed of the cars that are being captured.

    Ok

I wonder what magic Hikvision uses to get their's to align....

    Hi Tony McLeish,

I do not know, but I assume their proprietary and not disclosed API?
I have created a task for our developers to investigate if there is a way to improve this integration.

I've had the exact same issue with my LPR cameras. The time sync issue actually drifts over time, so adjusting the prerecord doesn't always work.

No closer to resolving? The bookmarks are way out to the actual footage.

    HI Alexis Zenios,

I wish I had better news, other than "they are working on it".

    Hi Alexis Zenios,

Can you tell me if the issue is still relevant?

If so, can you please tell me which version of Nx you are using and which firmware for the Hikvision camera you are using?

Over time, there have been substantial modifications to the timestamp juggling we’re forced to do with Hikvision metadata and events. The latest version of Nx is 4.1.0.32405. You can upgrade to this latest version with:

    Build Number: 32405
    Password: h985lc

Updated and its still not working. The one camera is in sync but the other isn't. Ive noticed in the last that the cameras will drift in and out over time.

    Hi Alexis Zenios,

After the release of 4.2, there will be an improvement for the LPR accuracy in one of the first 4.2_patches.
Please keep an eye on the release notes.
