Bookmarks occurring 30 seconds prior to event.
AnsweredSo I have a few door sensor that I use to bookmark events in NX and it works fine.
I have also added some LPR cameras to open the gates, the command to open the relay works as expected and on time but the bookmark for the car arriving is placed 30 seconds before the car has even arrived. This used to work fine but all of a sudden I now have this new pre-bookmark issue. (Bookmark is set to 5s pre)
I would just like the bookmark to match up with when the car arrives.

Hi Calypso,
Most likely the event (reading the licence plate) is processed way ahead of the actual footage.
You can verify this with Wireshark to see when the command is sent to the Nx Witness media server. To really have a good understanding you need to align the actual footage to the pcap to understand where it goes wrong.
We are more than happy to have a look with you, but we need the pcap, a screen recording of the Nx desktop with the time in the OSD of the camera and the time of Nx included in the screen.

Its just very odd as the HTTP command to open the gate fires right on time, and that's based on the same event of seeing the numberplate.

Hi Calypso,
What we visually see, does not necessarily align with what the cameras detects.
Therefore, I suggested verifying this with Wireshark. When you share the pcap and screen recording we can investigate it further.
If this doesn't clarify the issue, we can transfer this request into a support ticket so you can share details to access the system privately, and we can do some further research.0 -
I am having this same issue with Vaxtor LPR on an Axis camera. Bookmark does not reflect the plate capture. Vaxtor, Vaxtor log and NX Witness bookmark are all the same time but the footage is over 1 minute behind? We had the OCR working fine but for some reason LPR is doing the above

Hi matt watts,
Like Norman mentioned, we will need the packets for analyzing the actual behavior between the server and the camera.
Please refer to this support ARTICLE for the instructions to capture and share the packets with us.
Also, please provide the IP addresses of the server and the camera.Thank you.

Thanks Anderson, seems to be working OK now after setting time again in the camera. I do however need assistance with creating the blacklist event in the Axis camera? Cannot find anywhere that tells me what this needs to be. I have set up the 'blacklist' analytic in NX Witness and blacklisted some plates in Vaxtor but nothing is sending through to NX, it does has this note...
Notes: Once the Vapix reporting has been activated, it is need to add the Axis camera events.
There are several options when it comes to creating an event. Access the Axis camera’s setup
and click on the Events menu. For complete guide, please see manual for VaxAlpr On-Cam Axis
Camera Integration.I have this manual also but it does not explain how to set it up to talk to NX.
Regards
Matt

Hi there,
We still have the same issue mentioned above. When the camera time is not exactly the same as the NX server time the bookmarks start to misalign. What would be a good way to get around this? Some sort of time server possibly?

Hi matt watts,
If you can set up a timeserver in the camera, you can use the same timeserver in the OS of your VMS and let the VMS check the OS time
