    HI Alan,

    I'm not sure, but is the mediaserver application capable of accessing the internet?

    Yes it is, I guess what I'm asking is should I be able to update the server from the client when the server is running in a Docker Container?

    Or should it done at the command line ?

    Hi Alan,

     

    Surely it should be possible to do in-client upgrade for the server which is running in the docker container.

    That's why we wonder if there's something incorrect with your Internet environment.

    When youstart to upgrade the server, did the server finish the download process?

    Yes finished the download but not the install

    Hi Alan,

    Here's the update instruction for the docker. Could you try again and let me know the result?

    1. Click the Main Menu "≡". Select System Administration and go to Updates tab.

    2. Click the Update to Specific Build button. Input build number and password and click "Select Build".

    3. Click the Download button.

    4. Once finished click the Install update button.

    5. The install will stay at Installing... for some time and then the Finish Update button will appear.

    6. Click the Finish Update button and then click Yes button.

    7. You will now be at the Reconnecting... dialog.  This will also sit in this state.  Click Cancel. This will close the connection to the server.

    8. Stop your container and start it again

    9. Connect to the container with the Nx Desktop client.

    10. Go to Updates section. You should see an Update successful message.

    11. You may be disconnected again but connecting once more should work and the updates tab should show the new version.

    Thanks Wendy I have tried this about 10 times now and every time I to the last part after restarting the container Nx Client tells me I have to restart in Compatibility mode because the client and server are different versions i.e client is 4.1 and server is still 4.0 so the server is just not updating ?

    Hi Alan,

    Just want to confirm before providing the suggestion. What's your version of client and server now?

    It is expected that Nx client ask for restart if you have different client/server version (e.g. 4.0 and 4.1). Please run the same version first and check the build number on Update tab of System Administration.

    Hi Wendy, its ok I have solved the problem, I managed to select version 4.1 from the Docker Container Hub so all working great now,
