Once camera connect to NX Chinese Version will continually reboot
AnsweredWe have an issue that needs your assistance.
The device is a facial recognition camera with temperature detect basically its also an IP camera and following ONVIF protocol and can be found in ODM toll and NX witness build 4.0.0.29987 international version without any problem. But every time, when we connect the device with a PC which installs the NX witness traditional Chinese version 4.0.0.29987, the camera will keep rebooting and can't functionally work.
We will need your help to look into this so that we can know how to resolve this with your user in Taiwan.
We already sent a device to your Taipei office and please let me know if any further information needed.
Thank you.

Hi Shaopin,
Could it be that the camera is connected to other VMS or NVR?
Please go to the Camera Settings menu, tab Expert, and tick the box Keep camera profile and stream settings....Probably this resolves the issue. Otherwise, please share a screen recording to show what is the issue.

Hi Shaopin,
Thanks for your post. Do you know who is the contact from Nx that asks you to send the device? Have you already sent that or you are going to send it?
BTW, if you have sent the devices, can you help to provide the credential of the device, i.e. username and password to login, so we would be able to investigate it.
Thanks.

Hi Shaopin,
Thanks for your waiting. We tested the camera and check what was the issue.
Unfortunately, this is a camera side firmware issue, so you would need to confirm with your camera module provider and have them fix the issue for you. From the test, we have several findings.
1) The camera seems to have poor performance or computing power. It cannot work with dual streams.
Meaning that while you are trying to pull two streams from the camera, it would overload then finally crash or reboot.2) Although the camera is compatible with ONVIF, it could provide dual streams, but the second stream is still 1080P, so it does not help to reduce the load on the camera while streaming out.
3) If you use Wireshark to track the RTSP packet, you would see the camera turns off the stream channel unexpectedly.
So the VMS would need to re-establish the channel, but the camera is too busy to handle the requests.4) Also, the camera seems to struggle to stream out the "Enough FPS" via RTSP when more than one stream is being pulled out.
5) The RTSP stream from the camera is dropping a large number of frames. If we use RTP over TCP, the camera would not be able to work, since the camera would shut down the channel for unknown reasons. If we user RTP over UDP, the camera is kind of work, but send out the frame every 10 seconds, meaning that there is no data transmission during that 10 seconds.
According to the test, the VMS side talks to the camera all in standard ONVIF, but the camera would take some period of time to respond and its hardware processor seems really busy, so the streaming part on the camera is not able to be handled properly. The camera issue can be seen in both the International version and the Chinese only version. The camera just keeps rebooting due to the overload likely.
At the moment, it is strongly recommended you would need to talk to your camera module provided and let them investigate the issue of the reboot and slow response to the requests.
Thanks.
