HIK Vision Fever Screening Cameras
AnsweredHi Guys
Will the HIK Vision range of Fever Screening Cameras integrate with NX Witness?
I have a client that we recently upgraded to NX Witness and they look likely to place an order for some Fever Screening Cameras.
It would be ideal if we can integrate them into NX Witness

The camera itself will work within Nx Witness, but I assume you also would like to receive the temperature alarms.
Unfortunately, that is not the case at this stage, but the request is known and I will move the request from 'Miscellaneous' to 'New Feature Ideas' so our product gets informed about this request. -
I'd be real careful relying on these cameras/ handheld thermal cameras. They only take surface temp, not true core temp. A whole lot of liability issues should it provide a false negative. Sorry, I know this is not the right place to discuss, but caution is required especially if a company (integrator, software developer etc) is going to back this

In our country demand for automatic measuring of body temperature is currently huge due to coronavirus. Thermovision cameras are one of the possible solutions to speed up the process in large facilities, but we all still have many doubts on practical side and accuracy. Recently we ordered some DS-2TD2617B-6/PA cameras from HikVision and we will test them in the next few days. Both with and without black body. And of course all customers would like to receive the high temperature alarms, so please keep in touch on this topic. We will contact you soon to support alarms, if those cameras will do their job properly.
Here is the list of the camera models currently offered in Poland to detect fever :
DS-2TD2637B-10/P
DS-2TD2636B-10/P
DS-2TD2617B-6/PA
DS-2TD2617B-3/PA
DS-2TD1217B-6/PA
DS-2TD1217B-3/PA(B)
DS-2TP21B-6AVF/W
DS-2TP31B-3AUF1 -
Hello again,
Recently we have tested HikVision DS-2TD2617B cameras and they work pretty well, even without a black body device attached. Once manufacturer suggestions are followed (indoor and stable environment temperature), everything works fine. It is true their accuracy is 0.5degC. If someone needs black body device for higher accuracy 0.3degC, it is possible to buy it from HikVision.
Anyway. I want to ask you guys to support those body temperature measurement cameras in Nx. Currently, in Nx 4.0 it is impossible get metadata - there is no such analytic event on the list. We made the integration ourselves, but it is always better to have original integration from manufacturers.

Hi Tomasz,
Receiving temperature alarms is scheduled, although the current priority is with the release of v4.1. So temperature alarm will likely be added in a 4.1 patch or in 4.2, depending on the available information for this integration.

All,
Our Dutch reseller PG Security created a nice application to receive and sent Hikvision temperature alarms within Nx Witness.

Hi,
Also connecting the output from the camera to the input from that same camera does the job (for the moment), then you can manage the input as a temperature alarm and handle "event to action" with it.

I like your creative way of thinking Fabian.

Hello,
Would you please be so kind as to explain how i can go out achieving the below ?
"Also connecting the output from the camera to the input from that same camera does the job (for the moment), then you can manage the input as a temperature alarm and handle "event to action" with it."

Hi David Bessen,
You physically wire the output and input together and in the camera UI you set the camera that in case of a thermal alarm the camera output will be triggered. The camera output will be triggering the camera input.
In Nx, you set the Event to Input Signal on Camera with the desired Action, Show desktop notification in the example below.
Obviously, you can pick any Action or even multiple Actions by creating multiple rules.
