Hi Justin,
Please check this topic: LINK
The issue is resolved in the patch we released last night. -
Hi Norman,
Thanks for the response. Where do I go to enter the commands in that link? Sorry but I haven't had to do this type of thing before and I'm just a stupid electrician lol.
Thanks again.

Hi Justin,
Don't call yourself stupid. I know a lot of people who would fail if they do your job.
Regarding the update; connect to the device with the Nx Witness desktop client and follow the instructions in the link below;
https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/articles/205007437-Updating-Nx-Witness
And use the credentials in the link I shared in my previous message.

I'm still a little confused as to what I supposed to be doing? My NX! is currently running 4.0.0.29987. Am I supposed to be running those commands in the link or updating the NX1 itself? I thought the version I'm running is the latest right? I can't see a 30617 and when I check for an update it says I already have the latest

Hi Justin,
Open the Nx Witness Client application. Go to System Administration -> Updates
Click button "Get Specific Build"(versions 2.6 and below) or click the dropdown list and change default value "Latest Available Update" to "Specific Build..." for versions 3.0 and forward
Verifying dialog with "Build Number" and "Password" fields will pop-up
To get specific version you need to input correct values which are usually provided by Nx Support Team (Build Number: 30617 / Password: l2jy93)
After the input click "OK" to proceed for versions 2.6 and below. Versions 3.0 and forward have dedicated "Update System" button required to initiate the update.
If update fails on the first try(e.g. because of the internet lagging) clickable "Update" button will download and install the package later0 -
Hi Norman
i am getting the same storage full issues on NX1.
so i tried to update to 30617, but it wont update as the system is saying "there is not enough space to extract update files".
so i tried deleting some files as per previous instruction from Ichiro:
- Log in the Nx1 via SSH. The username is "root", and the password will be the same as your Nx admin account.
2. Stop the mediaserver service - you can do it via the command "service networkoptix-mediaserver stop"
3. Navigate to the path - "cd /opt/networkoptix/mediaserver/var"
4. Check the files, you will find some files like ecs.backup, ecs_1.backup.... Then you can delete the ones with the extension . backup. (Please check the screen capture attached, *.backup)
5. Navigate to the path - "cd /opt/networkoptix/mediaserver/var/log"
6. You can delete the log with number attached. (Please check the screen capture attached)
7. Navigate to the path - "cd /root"
8. You can delete the file with the prefix sent_mediaserver_*(Please check the screen capture attached)
9. Navigate to the path - "cd /"
10. You can delete the file with the prefix sent_mediaserver_*
11. Restart the Nx1, you can use the command - "reboot".
i could not find any of the "log" files mentioned but i got the others.
unfortunately i am still seeing the same message when i try to update.
please advise.
thanks,

Hi Paul,
Please forward the device over port 22 and email the login details (username, password, public IP address) to <removed> and I will have look and see what we can do for you to resolve this.

Hi Norman,
Mate, I am still getting a lot of storage issue with storage almost full warnings and email notifications for my server going offline or cameras going offline. I've had my laptop setup and HTTP connected to the cameras to see if they go off. Not that I have sat there watching them but I figure if the camera does drop out that I'll have to log back in to see the live stream from the camera.
Should the NX system not self manage it's own storage without sending warnings or causing issues on the server. We have sites setup with a windows computer as the server that have 19 TB total for storage that get this same problem. I never used to get this issue before updating to version 4. I'm not sure what has been change but version 3 was stable and worked with none of the issues. Now for all of our sites we are starting to get the same problems that costs us time and money.
Can you please tell me if there is a fix that works to resolve this issue?

Hi Justin,
I moved your request into a support ticket.

Hi Justin,
As mentioned in the support ticket as well. We resolved the issue. Over time too many logs, updates and other redundant files filled up the root partition and caused the notifications.
Nothing to worry about. The functionality of the device wasn't harmed, but we understand such notifications are annoying.
The obsolete file were removed and you're good to go now.
