    Hi Danny,

    You can use any NAS if it complies to the guidelines in the following support article;

    I understand. What I'm asking specifically is can I use 2 or more NASs with nx Witness to increase the overall amount of storage for recording. Will Nx Witness handle that gracefully? I want to use more than 1x48TB NAS to allow for extended recording.

    Thank You

    Hi Danny,

    If you want, you can connect a whole datacenter full of storage devices to an Nx Witness system.

    Thanks Norman, I'm assuming that means your answer is yes. I wanted to make sure I could use multiple NASs for storage and it would handle them seamlessly. The 48TB for $1500 just seems to good to pass, more heat and power but a great price. I would need 2-3 of them.

    Each NAS can be added as a storage device as shown in the following video: LINK

    Thanks for the response. In the video they are using the storage for making redundant copies of camera streams. This is slight different then what I am looking for. I am looking at using the second NAS to make my complete video storage a total of 96TBs by using two NAS units. This is likely trivial to NXWitnessbut I want to make sure multiple 48TB NAS units will work the way I intend to use them, otherwise I should just go with a system that will allow me to get the amount of storage I need in a single machine. If they work it's likely I would end up with three of them for storage.

    If anyone has recommendations on storage systems I would welcome them, I'm sure that's all to common on this forum.

    Thanks,

    - Dan

    Hi Danny,

    Besides using a NAS for backup, it also can be used as the main storage. You can change this in the storage settings for each storage device.

    If I should give a recommendation for mass storage I would have a look at the Veracity Coldstore.
