Polygonal privacy masking
AnsweredPolygonal privacy masking in Nx would be great. The masking capabilities in cameras from a lot of vendors are really bad, of cause some do it right. But please Nx, do like you did with motion detection. Solve it once and for all inside Nx.

Fredrik,
The issue with the feature is that it's actually not a small one.Imagine we do it for a second: let the user set up privacy masks universally for any camera.
Once the user setup the privacy mask it's easy to display the privacy mask on the thick client.
But what about the web, what about the exported video, what about video exported via API? For all these cases to provide the masks we need to transcode the video. Now, what if the server is weak(Atom or ARM)?
If we do it only for the thick client we sort of misleading users with expectations.
Any Idea of how to work around the issues I mentioned? Or maybe at least fins a good way not to mislead the users if transcoding is not an option?

Dear Sergey,
you already transcode the video on export if i'm choosing an image or timestamp. There is a "warning" that propose that the video will be trancoded and it will use a lot of cpu and take a lot of time. So why is it's not possible to use the same warning if i want to export with privacy zones. In Europe because of the GDPR its a really needed feature and like Fredrik said, the options provided by the cameras itself are sometimes really bad.
Annother postiv thing if you do it in NX, if something happens inside the privacy zones you can disable it by non selecting it within the export. If you do it inside the camera itself you are unable to deactivate it after.

Hi Fredrik Ahlsen,
Fredrik – alas, this face-blurring feature hasn't been scheduled yet for any of the foreseeable releases.
The topic was created to gauge interest. If there is a lot of interest it will be discussed internally if we should or should not have such feature.Currently, Xccelo does offer a solution that works with Nx that offers privacy masking and face/people blurring.

Hi,
is there any news regarding polygone privacy mask?
The issue is still very important, especially in the European market. As before, cameras here often offer only black rectangles, which are much too inaccurate. Moreover, there are always requests to remove privacy zones in case of a concrete suspicion of fraud or vandalism. This is not possible with the settings in the cameras. A solution directly from Network Optix would be great!0 -
