Manually add cameras via rtsp primary AND secondary streams.
AnsweredJust a thought.
Is there a way to add/edit rtsp stream addresses in the advanced tab so we can add the substream of non-Onvif and/or h.265 cameras (or is that not how it works? or am I missing the obvious?)
Just got some of the newer Hik cameras with firmware V5.5.3. Apparantly, Hikvision disables Onvif by default post 5.5.0 for ‘security’ reasons (I always find this stuff out in the middle of an install).
I discovered that Onvif can be re-enabled on the web interface (Configuration > Integration Protocol) or using the newest Batch Config tool…(also need to add an Onvif user). Selecting h.265 however fails with no signal as explained here…. https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/articles/115012536187-Does-Nx-Witness-Support-H-265 But, since I can add a camera using the rtsp address like rtsp://192.168.0.24:554/streaming/channels/101 without Onvif, I should also be able to specify in the advanced tab the rtsp address for the secondary stream too, no?

Hey Paul - we call this the "create a camera" feature and we're working on it.
With regards to Hikvision disabling ONVIF by default - in v3.2 Nx Witness will re-enable ONVIF in Hikvision cameras automatically. -
Thanks Tony, looking forward to both.

Hi Paul,
Just to let you know. With the release of Nx Witness 3.2.0.28100 we added the option to add the RTSP primary and secondary stream to the system. First, you add the primary RTSP stream and after it was added you go to the camera settings menu, tab advanced and here you can add the secondary RTSP stream and you can benefit from the advantages of dual-streaming.
