What is H.265?
High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), also known as H.265 and MPEG-H Part 2, is a video compression standard, one of the several potential successors to the widely used AVC (H.264 or MPEG-4 Part 10).
In comparison to AVC, HEVC offers double the data compression ratio at the same level of video quality or substantially improved video quality at the same bit rate. It supports resolutions up to 8192×4320, including 8K UHD.
Does Nx Support H.265?
1. Nx supports several brands and model in H.265 stream. You will be able to find them on the supported list - http://ipvd.networkoptix.com/#/
2. For those which are not the list, it is likely also supported but our users have not yet used them in a regular basis. You can try it and let us know.
3. If you found the H.265 does not work, you can still have the stream coming to Nx. Nx supports H.265 stream in General RTSP. You can add the camera stream which is compressed by H.265 by using RTSP URL.
Since ONVIF protocol does not yet support H.265, so the H.265 integration will be specific model-oriented currently.
General RTSP will be the option to check the H.265 stream. If you need any camera integration, please contact our local distributors and share the project information with us.
