Lost footage every Sunday night. (Ubuntu media server)
CompletedI'm experiencing some issues on a clients system & wondering if anyone can help.
System is as follows:
NX Version: 5.1.4.38659
Server OS: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS
Hardware: Ness/Hikvision NVR ( OS wiped and running Ubuntu/NX) recording full time 12x Hik cameras.
System has been running fine, no issues for approx. 2years.
I recently replaced all 4 storage drives, original drives were WD60PURX, model and not readily available anymore, so I replaced them with WD64PURZ. Formatted to ext4, mounted new storage and configured on NX, all up and running no problem....
Problem appeared Sunday night, right on midnight, continuous "Not enough HDD/SDD speed for recording to /mnt/Media1/HD Witness Media" errors start flooding in. This continues on all drives for several hours, resulting in lost footage for the entire time.
I checked over the system on the following day and could not find any issues, all drives recording ok with minimal disk usage from NX for the entire week.
This has happened 3 weeks in a row now, every Sunday night. Given the exact time I'm assuming it must be a scheduled task causing the issue, I'm no Linux expert, but from what I can see the only things scheduled to run in crontabs are "update notifier" and "man-db" could man-db be causing this to happen?
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this sorted? Any help would be apricated. Thankyou.

This seems to be a consistent issue with multiple users. I only noticed it after upgrading to version 6. Support via this forum also seems to be non existent, rather get hold of your license vendor.

Hi Vidsec,
I hope you’re doing well! I noticed that this topic hasn’t received any engagement from the community yet, and I wanted to check in with you. Is the issue you mentioned still relevant or something you’re looking to resolve?
Hi Calypso,
The goal of this community is community members assisting other community members. And you're right, for urgent matters it is recommended to reach out to the license vendor, as also mention in this article about Response Times.
Best regards.
