Body Worn Camera Integrations

Has there been any updates in the last 4 years since posts were created in the forum about integrating body cameras into NX Witness? We’re looking at trying to either use Axon Body 3’s or the Axis W-101 for our department and like the idea of using our camera servers for storage instead of paying expensive subscription fees for the manufacturer’s storage options.

Hello,
While I don't have details on specific body-worn cameras, they can generally be used like any other standard camera.
If Axis devices use a different API for their body-worn cameras compared to their regular ones, you might be able to add them using the ONVIF protocol or by adding them as an RTSP stream. This approach should also work for other body-worn camera brands.
Additionally, if a real-time connection between the body-worn cameras and the VMS server isn't possible, you can upload the footage to the VMS using the Virtual Camera feature.
