    Hi Zack Sauve,

Typically, when the device reports itself through Onvif as one device, with multiple channels, de device uses 1 license channel. This could be verified with the Onvif Device Manager, but also with our software, since the device should show a different icon for multisensor devices.

If you can share screenshots of the Camera Settings menu, tab General for the Hikvision DS-2SF8C442MXG-ELW/26 and LTS VSPTZIP4C44WSL-X25IR most likely I can share a fix, so these devices use 1 license channel.

    Hi Norman,

Images for the LTS & Hikvision are below. We are also experiencing a similar issue with another model of camera we have, the Digital Watchdog N8PC-OLAH4 (This camera takes up 4 licenses instead of 1). Images of this camera are included as well.

    Hi Zack Sauve,

    Thanks for sharing the screenshots.

Please follow the steps as described below:

    1. Stop the mediaserver application and paste the resource_data.json file in THIS link at the following location:

      For Windows: C:\Program Files\Network Optix\Nx Witness\MediaServer
      For Linux: /opt/networkoptix/mediaserver/bin/

    2. Now start the mediaserver application again.
    3. (Add the device again).

To stop and start the media server, please do it as follows:

    For Windows:

Open the task manager, select tab ‘Services’ find the mediaserver application, right-click and select; Stop or Start

    For Linux:

    Open the terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and enter the following command;

    sudo service networkoptix-mediaserver stop
    or
    sudo service networkoptix-mediaserver start.

Could you please confirm that this meets your requirements? Once we receive your confirmation, we will proceed with the necessary updates, and we will be adding it to a future patch.

    Best regards.

Norman, I tried the file on one of our servers with the LTS dual sensor cameras. DW spectrum is still asking for 2 licenses for the camera instead of 1.

    Hi Zack Sauve,

    That is a bit unexpected.
It seems like the issue will require further investigation, as a result, we would like to connect remotely to your camera with the reported issue in order to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

Would it be possible to port forward the camera and share its details with us?

If this is possible, please let us know, and we'll transfer this topic into a support ticket to allow you to share information privately.

Norman, our cameras are on a separate network that never touches the internet. I would be happy to authorize an account on our DW spectrum & teamviewer access to the server.

Let me also ask this, do all the cameras of the affected type need to be removed & re-added for the fix to take affect? Does the server computer itself need to be restarted as well? Additionally the file I was sent was for NX witness. Does that same tile work for the DW spectrum version of NX witness?

    Hi Zack Sauve,

TeamViewer to the Mediaserver would do. I'll transfer this topic to a support ticket to enable you to share the TeamViewer credentials.

    Regarding:

Let me also ask this, do all the cameras of the affected type need to be removed & re-added for the fix to take affect?

Nope. It was just sloppy of me, however the result would be the same.

Does the server computer itself need to be restarted as well? Additionally the file I was sent was for NX witness.

No, only the daemon has te be restarted.

Does that same tile work for the DW spectrum version of NX witness?

Yes, the file will work for any version of our software.
