It's a great suggestion and something we're currently working on. In addition to a single camera-view-on-event what do you think about having a layout-on-event rule?

That's great news! It would really open up using this VMS for many more applications. A layout on event can also definitely add value as a way to pull up certain cameras on event. (I really like that one)

Another great option would be to have some sort of dedicated I/O device to attach (Via USB or some other interface) that would really allow many more options to an install.

When can you predict it'll be available for us?

The first integration with IP I/O devices(s) is on the upcoming roadmap for v2.4 which should be available this summer. The pop-out feature is most likely going to be released in v2.5 in Q3/Q4 of this year.

Hi Tuli - Good news! Layout-as-an-action has been renamed Alarm Layout. The Alarm Layout feature will be a pre-configured Layout that will give users the ability to create a rule to show a camera on Alarm Layout. https://networkoptix.atlassian.net/wiki/display/NR/Nx+Roadmap

    Tony,

The Alarm Layout is a great feature, but there isn't a way to resume normal viewing after a predetermined time without user interaction.

The option is helpful if a door is opened and a camera alarm layout pops up. It would make sense that whatever was being viewed before the alarm happened came back onto the screen after a set period of time.

    Hi Tuli -

Makes sense. You're going to see an improvement in alarm handling workflow over the next 12 months and we'll make sure to take this suggestion into account for future releases.

I really like the idea of "Layout as an action" and the ability to set a time limit for how long it shoud show before resume to normal/standard/previous layout.

I also posted some suggestions to http://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/articles/217572898-Alarm-Layout

    1. Add some settings to choose pr client or user if the alarm layout should show. So that we can control this in a better way in larger systems with multiple clients.

    2. Use the video wall to show alarm layouts. I do now know if that is possible now?

Hi Tony Luce Any update on getting the alarm layout minimize on some sort of schedule? (say, 10-30 seconds). This is important in allowing an alarm to populate full screen and then still allow regular layout monitoring on a screen that is not actively manned.

    Thank you.

    Hi!

Unfortunately, we don't plan this exact feature. But we may include Close layout Action in the event rules, along with some Time-based event, that will be triggered once N mins.

Actually, see the solutions that we discuss here: https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360051282374-Synchronized-Alarm-Layout

Combined with our planned Event Rules revamp this may help you. But new Event rules won't come next year, I suppose.

For the time being, you can also send Generic Events periodically to Nx to switch users to another layout (not closing the Alarm layout, though, just changing the tab).
