lorex nvr forward notifications/streaming?
AnsweredDoes Network Optix support adding a NVR (lorex N881A63B) with stored footage and sending email notifications?

Hi @...,
No, in general, we do not support the stored footage on NVRs.
Regarding the sending email notifications, it depends on what you want to achieve. Nx Witness van send an email as an action. But not all actions in Nx Witness are applicable to the NVR.0 -
Hi Norman,
Thanks for the reply. I want to be able to get email notification if theres video motion or a problem with the nvr or cameras.
So how does Network Optix behaves with a NVR and recording footage? Will the footage reside on the Network Optix server?

Hi @...,
Either the channels of the NVR will be discovered automatically, or you can add them one by one as RTSP streams to the Nx Witness Mediaserver. The recorded footage on the NVR isn't used, and the NVR only works as an encoder. So in case IP cameras are connected to the NVR, it is sensible to use the Nx Witness Mediaserver application for recording the cameras and remove the NVR from the system. In case analogue cameras were connected to the NVR, the NVR will be used as encoder to convert the analogue stream into an RTSP stream.
When added and recording on the Nx Witness mediaserver, you can set up rules to receive an email notification in case of an event, like motion detection or camera issues and many more.
