Motion Detection
AnsweredI have a customer with multiple Hikvision sites, We are looking at bring it all together and dropping IVMS on all sites for NX Witness. That bits easy. The problem is the customer really likes the green box around motion and to see the detection areas etc.
My understanding is this is actually generated by the IPC not the IVMS software itself so must be on the RTSP stream or in Metadate.
Is there a way of displaying this in NX Witness? I have tried generic stream setup but can not find it imposed on any stream the camera is sending out.

Hi @...,
It varies a bit per camera, but if I recall it correctly, for Hikvision there are 2 options.
- Bounding boxes need to be enabled in the cameras and will be displayed on both streams, primary and secondary
- The bounding boxes are always enabled and only displayed on the secondary stream of the cameras.

Hi Norman,
Thanks for the reply. Your answer is exactly what i was thinking but it still is not working.
I have the camera open in IVMS locally now, i can see detection areas and motion detection (blue & green) boxes. This is on both main and sub stream.
I have the same camera also connected to NX but there is no boxes, on either stream. I have also connected it as a generic ONVIF, both streams (rtsp://10.4.13.15:554/ISAPI/Streaming/channels/101) etc still nothing.
I have also now connected both streams to VLC, nothing on there either so only seems to work in IVMS for some reason.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Hi Martyn Dawson,
Thanks for your feedback.
Nx Witness now supports the boundary boxes overlay for Hikvision Thermal cameras only.
It is the based on the thermal object tracking events. So if the camera is not in thermal camera product line, there would be no boundary boxes available.
