Adding IP cameras to 4.1 from different subnets
AnsweredAttempting to upgrade NxWitness from 3.2 to 4.1, 4.1 will not automatically detect Axis Q6045-E, Q6055-E, and Q6075-E IP cameras on different subnets than the server. In 3.2 we are able to manually add the cameras, but using the manual add in 4.1 returns "no devices found". ONVIF Device Manager v2.2.250 was run on same pc as NxWitness Server and three Axis Q6075-E cameras were added to the ONVIF Device Manager manually. Two of the cameras are running firmware 10.2.0 and one is running 9.40.1. All three cameras on ONVIF Device Manager have live video and ptz capability. Added one of the three onto NxWitness using the URL "rtsp://x.x.x.x:554/axis-media/media.amp?streamprofile=hdwitnessPrimary", but this method does not allow PTZ control of the camera. All three cameras were tested in a browser and confirmed to be working and that all three had the same ONVIF profiles. In NxWitness 3.2 these three cameras were able to be added manually (using only IP address) and had PTZ control.
Thanks in advance for any help you could offer.

Hi @...,
This is a difficult issue to investigate via this community and in general should be done by an onsite technician.
Currently, the only thing I can imagine is that there is a difference in the Onvif implementation, since we added over time the latest developments of Onvif.
Are the cameras using the latest firmware?0 -
Yes, the cameras are using the latest firmware.

Hi @...,
Please help us to collect the information:
1. The AXIS camera security setting:
The option is able to find on Allow access through the field under AXIS webpage > System > Security.
Please check whether you select HTTPS only mode for those AXIS cameras.
If yes, please upgrade the Nx to the latest patch(4.1.0.32405) and retry. We've fixed the HTTP redirection issue for the AXIS camera on the latest patch.2. If the latest patch doesn't fix the problem, please help us to collect the Wireshark packet on your server machine:
- Start Wireshark capture (See the instruction HERE)
- Launch the Nx client and try to scan the device manually.
- Confirm the NO DEVICES FOUND result and stop the capture.
- Save the packet and share it with us. Please also let us know the IP list of devices that you expect to find out.Thank you.
