    Dear mutou takafumi,

We would like to inform you that if you require connecting to multiple Nx Witness mediaservers with different versions of Nx Witness, it is necessary to have all applicable versions already installed on your desktop client. It is not required to have an internet connection, except in cases where the preferred build is not available on the desktop client. In such a scenario, the required build cannot be downloaded, and the connection attempt may fail, as you already noticed.

We also want to take this opportunity to strongly recommend upgrading all your systems to at least version 5.0.0.36634 for an enhanced experience.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further assistance. We are always here to help.

    Best regards.

    Thank you for your response.

    Let me check the details.

The versions of the servers at the two locations are v4.2.0.32840 and v5.0.0.35745.

I have had both v4.2.0.32840 and v5.0.0.35745 client software installed and the Nx client starts with the one installed later.

Also, if v4.2.0.32840 is installed by itself, the v4.2.0.32840 server is accessible.
Similarly, if v5.0.0.35745 is installed alone, the v5.0.0.35745 server is accessible.

If I install both versions, does it mean that if I simply install the first version and then the second version, I can basically connect to both versions of the server?

Is it still difficult to do this offline?

    Dear mutou takafumi,

I hope this message finds you well. If both versions 4.2.0.32840 and 5.0.0.37545 are installed on your computer, the desktop client will automatically start up using the latest version. However, if you prefer to use a previous version, simply select it and the desktop client will switch to that version instead.

If you haven't installed one of the builds yet, no worries! You can easily download it onto a device with internet access, transfer it to a USB thumb drive, and then install it onto the offline computer from the USB thumb drive.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team.

    Best regards

    Thanks for the quick answer.

『However, if you prefer to use a previous version, simply select it and the desktop client will switch to that version instead.』When you say [select it] in the sentence you answered, do you mean click on the previous version of the server on the server selection screen? I am not able to connect because I cannot download the compatibility mode here.
Or is there some other way to select it?

Also, when you say transfer to USB stick, do you mean client software? Or are you referring to a folder in the PC where it is already installed, as in the image below?

If you could prepare a separate PC that can connect to the servers at the two locations, and if you could solve the problem by copying the data from the Nx clients, that would be fine. If this is possible, please let us know how to do it.

    Dear mutou takafumi,

Thank you for your feedback, I'm sorry if I wasn't entirly clear.
To install the applicable desktop clients on your offline computer, please follow these simple steps:

    1. Download the applicable desktop client.
    2. Save it on a USB thumb drive.
    3. Remove the USB thumb drive from the online computer.
    4. Insert the USB thumb drive into the offline computer.
    5. Install the software on the offline computer.

Once the installation is complete, simply open the desktop client with the icon on your desktop or task bar and select the desired system. The desktop client will automatically open the matching version that is compatible with the selected system.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are always happy to help.

    Best regards,

    Hello

We tried everything, but it didn't work, so we verified it in-house.

The verification method is as follows

The verification method was to check how the files in the PC changed before and after the compatibility mode download. The following folders were checked.

    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Network Optix

I was able to confirm the change in the folder before and after the compatibility mode download.

I copied the folder after downloading and once I uninstalled the software and deleted the folder.

I then installed a new NxWitnss client and overwrote the folder I had just copied, and was able to access it on a PC that had not yet downloaded.

    Is this the correct method?
Is there a problem with this method?

    Hello.

I am not rushing to answer, but if the customer urges me to do so and there is no problem, I would like to replace the folder, is that OK?

Or was my question not clear enough?

    I'll be brief again.

We have a PC in an offline environment and two servers with different versions.

You may need to download compatibility mode to access these two servers. However, I am not connected to the internet and cannot get that.

Also, even after installing both client software in two different versions, only one of them could connect.

So, I copied the downloaded folder of the compatibility mode on a PC connected to the Internet and overwrote it on an offline PC and was able to connect to a different version of the server for in-house verification.

    Is this approach correct?

    Hi mutou takafumi,

If you find that approach to be effective, then by all means, continue using it. There's no issue with that!
