Multi-site setup with NX
AnsweredI like to be able to log in to multiple sites/servers at once from one client (Same window)
We are working with a small monitoring station that want to use NX to monitor 30+ locations, and bring events from all sites up on the NX alarm layout.

Fredrik,
You can always merge your systems into one, but I would not recommend to use this options if you have more than 50 servers.

I can use that to start with.
But what will happen when I go beyond 50 servers?
Any plans to extend the number of servers in a system, or other whays to handle this?1 -
Hi Fredrik Ahlsen,
Since v4.0 you can merge up to 100 servers. When you exceed 100 servers, please reach out, and we can discuss the options.

To merge the systems is not possible in this case.
What I need is a way to receive alarms and open cameras from multiple systems. The Mobile app with push notifications do this better than the desktop client right now.
But 100 servers in a merged system is very impressive and very good for other situations.
I`m not worried that we will go over that limit for any system for a while.0 -
Hey guys,
Sparking an old thread here !
I'm trying to do the same thing that Fredrik is doing.I've currently got 4 servers setup:
- Head Office (where our monitoring station is) - Public IP 1
- Site 1 - Public IP 2
- Site 2 - Public IP 3
- Site 3 - Public IP 4
I'm trying to avoid port-forwarding from external to any of the servers as much as I can.
I currently have them all setup as different servers, and to view cameras I have to disconnect and re-connect to the next server.
Is there a way for me to merge all of the servers, having the one at Head Office being the main one, without doing any port forwarding?
If not, do I need to do port-forwarding at all sites, or just to the Head Office server on port 7001 ?If I do just do the port forwarding for Head Office on 7001, would this then mean with NX Cloud that when someone views a camera stream on their phone, would the video traffic be travelling through the Head Office server, or would it be direct from the phone and the particular site server?
We will be expanding this to 40 sites shortly, so want to get the framework correct first before we push forward.
Thanks in advance !

Hi Jamie,
Regarding:
Is there a way for me to merge all of the servers, having the one at Head Office being the main one, without doing any port forwarding?
You can use the cloud merge option as described HERE. The only thing that might happen is that the URLs of the Nx Cloud are blocked by a firewall. In such case, you need to whitelist these URLs as described in THIS support article.
Regarding

If not, you need to forward each system per external IP address on port 7001.

Is there a maximum amount of sites you can cloud merge?
Have had a merged site go from version 5.1.0.37133 to 6.0.3 and started loosing camera names and locking out cameras. Any issues with V6?
