    Hi Warren Bull,

The software should NEVER allow anyone to dig the password from any file - It will increase the security risk. If customers could do it in the past, it should be an issue with the older version.

If you see the padlock icon after upgrading to v5, the first thing is to check whether the original credentials could work on the camera's webpage and ONVIF device manager. Once the credentials are correct, we could help to check what's wrong there.

Moreover, could you share the model and firmware of Dahua's camera with us?
    Thank you.

    Hi Wendy

I did eventually manage to track down the passwords for the cameras, but the lock icon stayed. I had to upgrade the firmware of the cameras from v2.2 to v2.4 and then it worked fine.

Unfortunately I can't tell what the model numbers are, these are 1st gen Dahua cameras where they didn't bother putting that information in the camera webpage or on the serial number sticker itself.

    Thanks again for your assistance
