    Hi Josh Nightingale,

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS isn't supported yet. The latest supported version is Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
We aim to support 22.04 LTS in the next release, version 5.1.

I have tried 22.04 after the release of it, just to try it, and there were multiple challenges to concur before I could run Nx on it. 22.04 has some major differences opposed to previous LTS versions, so it is reasonable to expect our software needs to be optimized for that and our team is currently working on that.

So I stopped my experiment and will wait for the official support, but my first impression is that 22.04 LTS is a significant improvement to prior versions, it is really fast and lightweight.

    Hi Norman,

Thanks for the reply. As I am needing to have this integration i will need to uninstall 22.04 and install 20.04 will that effect the Hardware ID?

    Thanks Again.

    Hi Josh,

In theory the HWID should stay that same, since the MAC addresses of the HW components should stay the same.

    Thanks again for your reply,

I have now loaded up 20.04 LTS and am having the same issue - The Vaxtor app is sending the Generic event and it will receive on a Windows build but not the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.

i have turned off all firewalls to test and still nothing.

Would you have any insight on what i can check to rectify?

    Hi Josh Nightingale,

Shall we turn this topic into a support ticket?

If you can provide remote access to the client and server over TeamViewer, we are more than happy to investigate the issue.

First thing I would check it sending a Generic Event through the browser to the server and check for the replies in the Web Developer Tools and/or Wireshark.

Are the Windows build and the Ubuntu build, both running Nx 5.0?

    Hi Norman,

That may be an idea as this doesn’t seem to be an integration issue but a bug with in Nx V5.

I have however been trying different things and have now found the trend. What the root cause is that is something well above my understanding but it may be something you and the team can look into. I will try me best to explain..

I have discovered that the Generic event from the Vaxtor Axis acap wont trigger on Nx V5 if installed as a fresh install on both 20.4 and Windows10/11. This is using all the same hardware and IP addresses.

However on both operating systems if i install Nx V4.2 it will work as expected. If i then upgrade to V5 via the in client specific build method, it will continue to work.

Although 22.04 is not supported i thought i would try it also, but V4.2 wont install due to libldap dependency not being met.

Due to this I will just run with 20.04 and step through the upgrade process with in the client for now.

    Hi Josh Nightingale ,

Before taking the hassle of uninstalling, installing, etc.

Please, run Wireshark on the server to which the generic event is sent with the Axis camera with the Vaxtor ACAP as host filter. The process is described HERE. Feel free to share the capture file if you have difficulties interpreting it.

My assumption at this moment is, that Basic authentication is used in the ACAP, Basic authentication isn't supported in Nx 5.0. Default is Bearer authentication, and you could set up Digest authentication.

    Hi Norman,
Sorry for the delay - I have looked at what you suggested in regards to the Digest user and making that change solved the issue for notifications.

The decision was made to roll back to 20.04 on the main machine for stability - unfortunately I had to deactivate the licenses.

Thanks again for your help on this Norman it’s is appreciated.
