    Hi Richard tricky,

    Which version of Nx Witness are you using?
    I recall such issue, but also, it was resolved long time ago.

    Hi our servers, theres 3, are on 4.2.0032840 an the same of the desktop app (windows 10)

     

    we have 170 cameras onsite and 21 end points running.

    Hi if i was to update the servers would this have any effect on the current data that is stored? we are on a live event and the recording time is crucial.

    would i lose any data or have to reconfig any end points etc etc

     

    I obviously understand that recording will stop whilst updating, but how long will this take.

    I do export some of the recordings too. will i still be able to do this post update,.. i.e. the version change wont affect recorddings prior to the update,

    Hi Richard tricky,

    Typically, you should be good, it should have no effect on the current data, and you should be good to go to export the data afterward.

    But it is always better to be safe than sorry, therefore it is recommended to:

    1. Don't do major updates on Friday if you want to be sure to enjoy your weekend.
    2. Create a restore point in the OS, before executing major updates.
    3. First, do the exports, then update.
