iOS - sign into cloud and local server
PlannedApologies if I've missed something, but is it possible to be signed into a local server as well as the Nx cloud when using the iOS mobile app (latest version) ?
Login and streaming are obviously much faster when connected to my Nx server via a VPN, however it appears that push notifications require me to be logged into the Nx cloud.
So it would nice to be able to be signed into two systems at once (my local server via IP address, and the Nx cloud)... or alternatively, if the iOS app and the Nx server are on the same network - can push notifications be sent locally ?

Hi @...,
You can't log in as a local user and a cloud user at the same time.
For push notifications, a cloud user is mandatory, and the push notifications are sent through the cloud instance.0 -
Thanks Norman
As mentioned, it would be nice if we could be logged in as a cloud user to access notifications, but have access to the server via IP address in order to get the speed of a direct VPN connection

Hi @...,
I assume the VPN enforces the connection to pass through our server as a proxy, which indeed is slower than the default NAT connection.
At this moment I'm not sure if it is possible/reasonable to develop an option to log in to the same system with the same (mobile) client twice.I'll leave this topic open, so other people can comment and vote for this suggestion as well.

Hi Norman
Even with the VPN off, the NAT traversal that the cloud connection sets up is significantly slower than a Wireguard VPN connection
Don't get me wrong - the cloud login/user is definitely an excellent feature for a lot of users who don't have the interest to set up a VPN; however it would be nice to combine the speed of a VPN connection with the functionality of native push notifications
