No 'New Server' Tile
AnsweredHey there,
I am having issues when launching the Nx Desktop (brand new install on a device with fresh Ubuntu 18.04 OS). The New Server tile does not appear, and I am unable to begin the Nx Server setup process. Is there a work around? I have done a few of these installs in the past with no issues.
All I can see is the Connect to Server icon...

Hi @...,
Can you tell me a bit more about the system?
- What is the system architecture?
Client and server on different computer? Or the same? - Are the server and client on the same subnet?
- Can you ping the server?
- Is the mediaserver application running? You can check this with the following command:
$ sudo systemctl status networkoptix-mediaserver.service
- Can you reach the Nx WebAdmin on the server with:
localhost:7001

Hi Norman,
So the localhost:7001 on my desk worked and all appeared well.
I move the server to a new site and the same issue occurs. Server becomes undiscoverable, there is no Setup Server option, and the localhost:7001 asks for login credentials but I cannot gain access.
Even with a fresh Ubuntu and Nx install, the login prompt appears but it is asking for credentials I have not set. Are there default details I should be using? The user manual says default username is 'admin'.
