Axis Q8752-E
CompletedI'm trying to get an Axis Q8752-E to work with my Spectrum install. I've been going back and forth with Digital Watchdog and Axis, and they both say the other has to fix something. I'm hoping you can be of more help here. I can only get it to show the visible light camera, not the thermal. Is there some special way to get the second camera to show up? Here's the last reply I got from Axis support:
Dear Johnathan Powell, Thank you for contacting Axis Technical Support! My name is Tony and I am happy to assist. I have spoken to some internal resources here and unfortunately, there is not really anything we can do on the Axis side. Digital Watchdog appears only to be using image.cgi?camera=1 for the stream being pulled into the VMS which is the visual camera. If they wanted to view the thermal image they would have to use image.cgi?camera=2 but of course, that is something Digital Watchdog will need to develop into their software. I am not sure if they have a manual way in their software to add a device using camera 2 similar to how someone might add an encoder? That might be the only work around for now but as already stated, there would be limitations on this such as not being able to zoom in or out. Best regards, Tony Axis Customer Services

Hi Johnathan Powell,
I have to request this camera from the Axis HQ virtual loan pool, and once it is available, I'll check the options.

Norman, thank you. If it helps any, I have a demo one sitting on my bench on loan from Axis until Tuesday. You're welcome to remote in and click around on it.
I just placed an order for two of these. I figure worst case, I can use the visual camera via Onvif and the thermal via RTSP. It's kind of hacky though, and I wouldn't have any control over the thermal.
