Concept to zoom into the timeline when clicking on an incident/event

Not a complaint, just noting my experience.
Wondering if there might be a seed to be planted on ......events that are listed in the right hand column of the client and interacting with them.
If I want to see when a camera dropped off in many of my systems, I click on the event listed.
When I do that, it brings the video up, but keeps the long view in the green timeline instead of zooming into a tight time window around the event. (11 months of video to the left of the event that I need to drill into to see the gap in video)
In this case, the event is only 10 seconds long, but I'm viewing months worth of video in the timeline/playback interface.
It takes about 15 scrolls with the wheel on the mouse to zoom into the 1 hour timeline I want to review.
Keeping it centered on the time window while zooming that deeply is a little bit of a task.
Maybe an option to have the timeline snap to a custom window of time around events would be something to consider.
