NX Witness Client only runs once. Fails to start again
AnsweredHi,
We're having issues with the NX Witness client (6.1.2.42921), running on Windows 11 ARM64.
The client will only run once after install and then fail to run again unless the launcher.version file is deleted from the C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Network Optix\applauncher\default\ folder.
The launcher.version file is then recreated upon launching NX Witness and, once NX Witness is closed again, the client fails to launch another time.
No splash screen. No noticeable services launching. Issue persists after a reboot. Ran sfc & dism clean up etc.
This issue only seems to exist for standard Windows users. The issue does not occur for admin accounts.
Any pointers on how I can resolve this?
Cheers,
Ben

I've reached out our reseller and report back if we're able to resolve it.
For future me or anyone else who stumbles across this issue - workaround is to run the applauncher.exe or HD Witness.exe directly instead of the HD Witness Launcher.exe
----
Windows 11 ARM64, standard user account, NX Witness Desktop Client 6.1.2.42921.
HD Witness.exelaunches successfully.applauncher.exelaunches successfully.HD Witness Launcher.exelaunches successfully when%LOCALAPPDATA%\Network Optix\applauncher\default\launcher.versionis missing or contains any version other than6.1.2.42921.On successful launch,
launcher.versionis changed to6.1.2.42921.Subsequent execution of
HD Witness Launcher.exethen silently failsChanging or deleting
launcher.versionimmediately allowsHD Witness Launcher.exeto launch again. This only occurs for standard Windows users. Administrator accounts are unaffected.
